DUNDAS SQUARE

Who needs Times Square in New York when we have our very own here in Toronto. Welcome to Dundas Square- Toronto’s new entertainment venue.

In the heart of downtown, it ignites beauty and energy.

The Toronto Life Square, open in late 2007 is adjacent to both Toronto’s Eaton Centre and Dundas Square.  It has a total of 13 stories- ten above ground, and three below ground.  Featuring 20,000 square feet of billboards on the outside (along with the world’s largest contoured high-definition screen), it houses a 24-screen AMC Theatre and an 11,000 square foot Shoppers Drug Mart, Wolfgang Puck’s Cafe, Future Shop and Adidas will also be opening in this entertainment/shopping complex.

Across the street, Dundas Square has been open since 2002 and has a life of it’s own.  With 22 small fountains that flicker constantly, a stage that holds free concerts, and a half-price ticket booth, the crowd it brings is impressive.  The sleek granite surface is used for special events (sometimes spanning across Yonge Street) and the patio-style seating area allows for a relaxing taste of downtown during the summer months.

Just when you think they could add no more, City TV will be joining the bustle of the Yonge-Dundas district.  Overtaking the Olympic Spirit building, they will broadcast directly from the heart of the city.
